The Scientists Engaged in Education Research (SEER) Center at the
University of Georgia is seeking three Postdoctoral Fellows to join
a two-year, cohort-based Biology Education Research Postdoctoral
Fellowship program, funded by the National Science Foundation. Each
of the postdocs in the cohort will be co-mentored by experts in
biology education and relevant social science fields (e.g.,
cognitive psychology, educational psychology, higher education,
measurement). Each Fellow will choose a cross-disciplinary research
project to conduct (see the SEER Center site for project options: )
and be mentored in developing their own independent research
project.
For all Fellows, research training will be complemented by
cohort-based and individualized professional development, including
options to gain teaching and mentoring experience, complete various
certifications, interact with a national group of experts, write
papers and proposals, network at national/international meetings,
explore career options, and search and apply for jobs. Each postdoc
will have opportunities to interact with a vibrant group of faculty
interested in undergraduate and graduate education in STEM
disciplines as well as other postdoctoral associates, graduate and
undergraduate researchers, and professional staff as part of the
Biology Education Research Group (BERG) and Scientists Engaged in
Education Research (SEER) Center at University of Georgia.
This is a grant funded position. While the continuation of funding
and employment is anticipated, it is not guaranteed. The funder
requires work authorization as a pre-requisite for employment and
all applicants must have earned a Ph.D. within the 24 months before
beginning the fellowship.
These positions are full-time with a start date as early as August
2024 and no later than January 2025. Candidates should
